A Oval Wood Carved 23″ Relief Bust representing a portrait of the famous American Patriot “Betsey Ross”. Betsy Ross (1752–1836) contributed to the American Revolution an was a upholsterer in Philadelphia who produced uniforms and flags.
Betsy Ross is considered a national icon and heroine.
The Oval Carved Wall Sculpture, features detailed carving of raised relief bust of head and shoulders centered and mounted in original medallion wooden frame. The rigid pose contrasts with the scroll. Original white painted surface was to simulate marble.
According to legend she was hired by a group of Founding Fathers to make a new U.S. flag , making and designing the second official U.S. flag, known as the Betsy Ross flag.
