CHIPPENDALE TRIPOD TILT TOP CANDLESTAND

Circa 1760-1800
A rural candlestand that stands with a balanced composition in very good condition. The stand has a single board top which is serpentine on all four sides each having squared corners. Reverse side of the top has a chamfer edge. A tapering shaft flows downward to a urn column supported on cabriole legs that terminate to platformed pad feet.

Primary wood: Cherry – Block: Chestnut
