PETER HERRMANN Ten-Gallon STONEWARE CROCK
Circa 1855 – 1870
A very impressive ten gallon Stoneware Crock decorated with a characteristic stemmed clover motif design that is associated with wares made in Baltimore, MD. A sweeping pattern of brushed flowers enhances this rare oversize vessel – a Classic Peter Hermann, one of Maryland’s premier 19th century potters. The professionally restored crock has great lines, it is big and bold with the original cobalt-decorated lid. This wonderful example will make a superb addition to any collection of stoneware or early American antiques.
