QUEEN ANNE LOWBOY
Connecticut
Circa 1760 – 1780

Surviving 250 years plus, this lowboy affirms the standards of Connecticut Cabinetmakers. A Fine Lowboy made of cherry and designed to have every constructive part particularize. The molded edge top generously overhangs the case appropriately housing symmetrically placed lipped drawers. The central drawer has a crisply carved fan with concave shaping on the apron contributing to its fine craftsmanship. This is above a tasteful developed arcaded skirt with pendants and central drop. The whole is raised on cabriole legs, developing from scroll-like brackets flanking the knees. The boldly curved cabriole legs sweep downward ending in plate formed pad feet. These characteristics all unite with its wonderful estate found condition creating visual satisfaction.

A classic expression of Rural Cabinetry, which is proportioned to its stature, is shown in this
Fine Quality Lowboy.
