ANTIQUE AMERICAN SWING HANDLE BASKET
New York State
Circa 1850-1880

A woven splint swing handle basket from the third quarter of the 19th century with a naturally aged patina. A double wrapped projecting round shaped rim. Carved projecting ears enclosing its one piece carved bent wood swing handle. Bottom has a nice under tuck. This very nice antique American swing-handled basket is not only a utilitarian object but also eye appealing in nature from the tasteful hand made workmanship in the woven design.

Very Good Condition. No repairs or replacements – displaying only the expected degree of wear and tear from age and usage. See photos for condition and description.
