Late 19th early 20th Century

A exceptional decorative example of a Silhouette Roof Tarring Trade Sign. Artistically crafted from iron sheet metal hand cut and attached by wrought iron wall bracket. This item would have hung outside a trade shop announcing to the passerby the tarring and roofing services being offered.

Sign is in superb structural condition, completely solid in structure and form. It has a wonderfully weather beaten surface with great patina and traces of original paint in sections.

A truly exceptional piece of antique signage of historical significance. A part of history reminding us of a formerly profitable industry.
