Circa 1760 – 1780
A New England Highboy of fine quality and refinement. The highboy stands in very good refurbished condition which is proportionate to its stature. Its early original brass hardware dress the old, mellow varnished surface. The arcaded skirt has a tasteful development with the blocked area of the center drawer having a fan with punched border. The skirt then continues with mirror image pendants. All is lifted on cabriole legs which begin with scrolled returns and angular knees which taper down to slender ankles ending in platformed pad feet. A wonderful rural highboy with outstanding vertical proportions.
