LEAPING YOUNG BUCK WEATHERVANE
Found in New York State
Early 20th Century

A fine estate found full bodied deer weathervane of Rare Diminutive Size. Constructed of a molded hollow copper body with cast zinc antlers & ears in outstanding condition. Vane has a weathered patina in “as found” original gilded and verdigris surface body without any dents or holes

The young leaping buck has a rare sleek profile, wonderfully delineated lines, eight-point rack, a dimensional quality and graceful flowing lines all creating a wonderful eye-appealing form.

A beautifully sculptured weathervane, this is a form that is highly sought after among collectors today. It is a fine example that transcends American Folk Art into a piece of charming sculpture for any interior.

Accompanied by a museum stand.
