Ohio and Midwestern Glass Houses fall in a category of their own. (There were several early midwestern glass houses). All were distinctly American and expressive of the finest craftsmanship in the development of glass making in America. Blown and blown molded glass bottles are very collectible – especially for colorful, interesting examples.

Huge Free Blown Globular Bottle, loose ribs swirl to the right, likely a Zanesville Glassworks, Zanesville, Ohio, 1830. Globular form with tall twisted neck, dark to medium golden amber, outward rolled sloping collared mouth – pontil scar. A fine Midwestern item.

Large Free Blown globular-shaped bottle with wonderful swirls and a pleasing dark to medium golden amber color. It appears to be an antique Zanesville Glassworks piece Zanesville, Ohio, 1830. A globular form with a tapered neck, an outward rolled mouth, and has a pontil scar. Ribs swirled to the right. A very nice large example of early American glass blowing.
