CHIPPENDALE CARD TABLE
Massachusetts
Circa 1780 – 1815
Card tables of this wonderful small scale and proportions infrequently appear. This fine example has a pronounced scalloped-top with double beaded edge. This is above a conforming skirt with a serpentine front and sides. All is raised on well defined fluted legs. Other positive attributes are the inclusion of a drawer surrounded by cock beading on the case relating to the top’s double beaded edge. Probably original surface. ;
