FOLK ART PAINT DECORATED BOX
Found in Watertown, NY ( Jefferson County )
Circa 1850’s
Jacob Happ has used multi painted colored strips, as well as, signing his name twice to make a strong visual statement on this unitarian dovetailed box.
The whimsical painted strips flow around all five sides boasting a continuing pattern of color. Consistent with age and use, the condition is very good.
