Circa 1740 – 1760

Surviving, 250 years plus, this lowboy affirms the standards of Massachusetts cabinetmakers. A Fine Lowboy made of walnut and designed to have every constructive part particularize. The moulded edge top generously overhangs the case appropriately housing symmetrically placed lipped drawers having brasses that appear to be original. The central small drawer is fan carved with blocking continuing on the apron. This is above a arcaded skirt with pendants. The whole is raised on scrolled brackets flanking the slightly pointed knees of curved cabriole legs sweeping downward ending in platformed pad feet. A Fine Quality Lowboy of compact dynamic proportions.
