PAINT DECORATED CANDLE BOX

Circa 1820 – 1860

Original Vinegar Grained Paint Decoration. Paint is full coverage, flat top with like decoration on all sides. Box is Dovetail construction, fitted with a sliding lid carved with raised panel; its case has applied and integral blue/green painted molded edge.

This box remains in fine original condition – sliding lid with shrinkage.

It’s all about the decoration, a superb example of fancy paint.
