A 19th century running horse three dimensional full-bodied molded copper weathervane with a flowing sheet copper tail and a finely cast well defined zinc head having applied ears. The weathervane’s original condition is further complemented with a wonderful surface and patina.
This Weathervane was by one of the America’s most important 19th-century weathervane designers. It displays fine delineated lines, beautiful form and wonderful folk art appearance.

Jewell & Company were among the first weathervane manufacturers in America. They were known for their more stylized designs and offered a wide variety of styles, the horse form being the most appealing and popular.
