Circa 1835 -1845
This commodious and vibrant New England Chest of Drawers is paint decorated with a masterful use of ochre and brown vinegar grain sponge work. Its paint decorated pattern is a exciting and striking simulation of curled-maple. Constructed of poplar and cherry. Chest has paneled sides with a large drawer above three graduated drawers, all this is lifted on high turned legs. Chest stands as a well proportioned piece that incorporates several useful and stylish elements.
