LANTERN – PIERCED TIN
New England
Circa late 18th Century – Early 19th Century
The lamp is intricately pierced with a repeating pattern on its body with a different one on the door. The door is hinged and has a closing fastener. The cone top is also pierced. A strap handle is attached to the top. Inside is a candle socket. Lantern is in excellent condition. The design of this punched tin lantern casts a wonderful pattern on the walls when candle is lit.
Medium: Tin with original oxidized patina.
