QUEEN ANNE BONNET TOP HIGHBOY

Circa 1740 – 1760

A choice Bonnet Top Highboy with a design that is executed successfully. Examples such as this have been recognized as made by Massachusetts (Boston) cabinetmakers. The form is a important contribution with slender appearance due to the ratio of the width to its height, as well as, its exceptional shaped bonnet and the finely curved cabriole legs terminating to pad feet. The center drawers of the upper and lower case sections each feature a carved Concave (scooped) Drawer. The highboy expresses the love of simplicity and a vertical proportion. Each component part flows into each other lending into a harmonious unit which would to a wonderful addition to any ones collection.

Height: 74″ – Bottom case width 38″
Brasses original (except concave carved small drawers )
Old ( possible original ) surface with good congruent color displaying great character and autentic aspect
