HUNTING DOG WEATHERVANE
American – 20th Century

A fine standing hunting dog weathervane that is in wonderful condition. The classic pointer stance made a good subject for a weathervane. It was directional and well balanced. The flattened full molded hollow copper body is now in a natural undisturbed weathered gilt surface with a beautiful muted patina. The dog’s unusual small dimensional quality has details that create a sleek profile with nicely defined features. The hunting dog weathervane has graceful flowing lines which have a charming folk art appearance.
