Ohio / Midwestern Glassworks
Circa 1830
Huge Free Blown Globular Bottle, loose ribs swirl to the right, likely a Zanesville Glassworks, Zanesville, Ohio, 1830. Globular form with tall twisted neck, dark to medium golden amber, outward rolled sloping collared mouth – pontil scar. A fine Midwestern item.

Ohio and Midwestern Glass Houses fall in a category of their own. (There were several early midwestern glass houses). All were distinctly American and expressive of the finest craftsmanship in the development of glass making in America. Blown and blown molded glass bottles are very collectible – especially for colorful, interesting examples.
