FEDERAL INLAID STAND
Upper Connecticut Valley
Circa 1780-1815

A tastefully proportioned antique Hepplewhite cherry stand. Simplicity in ornamentation but finely made. This rural American Hepplewhite one drawer stand has a 18 7/8” x 18 3/4” single board top with overhang, 27 3/8″ high, on four delicate square tapered legs. The top and two sides of legs are embellished with fine line-inlay. Top is centered with a round mahogany inlay. Lower edge of drawer and the frame has a mahogany veneer and line inlay banded apron. Inlay on legs runs down each leg to the inlaid cuffs above its finely tapered foot. Antique American Federal tables such as this are versatile elements in today’s decorating schemes.
