FEDERAL INLAID FOUR-DRAWER CHEST
New England
Circa 1790-1815
A fine quality Hepplewhite Chest of drawers adored with inlaid borders on top edge and above its graceful valance apron. Drawer front panels have skillfully matched veneers of a brilliantly figured “tiger striped” maple which is contained in cross banded mahogany borders with stylized cut corners. Cock-beading to the drawers adds a subtle ornamentation. Its case is supported by high french feet having a straight outline with flaring toes. The cabinetmakers choice of combining the above with its bowed front creates a stunning visual effect.
Refurbished condition to include new brasses.
