This unknown artist has painted a side view of a sailboat which has a sleekness and clarity in a linear nature. The artist has captured the energy of movement over the water with the cutting waves and its flags streaming against the blue sky. The anecdotal details of the figures on the deck and the trailing dinghy create a fresh native treatment. A fine example of 20th Century Folk Art.
