Made for David Ehle & Sarah Ehle 1839. Lion is in the corner blocks combining a daisy and star interior with a fruit tree and picket fence border.

Structure: Double weave in wool and cotton
Size: 78 long x 87 wide

Harry Tyler, who lived in Butterville, Jefferson County, N.Y. between 1834 and 1856, was a prolific weaver. He was a man of high principles, very painstaking in all his work and accurate to the last degree. He Invented his looms and made every part of them himself. These pieces were complicated and intricate.Harry also drew all his designs for the patterns.

Harry Tyler is believed to have 90 coverlets attributed to him. Although he was born in the Conn., his initial distinctive corner block was the English Lion.
