New England – Circa 1815-1820
A Fine Quality Sheraton Mahogany Dressing Table. Purchased from a NYS collection in “as found” estate condition. Retaining an old surface and its scarce original companion dressing box. Mahogany tops on dressing box and table have elliptic fronts, half-elliptic ends with turrent corners. They both are above a conforming shape each containing a single drawer. The dressing box is lifted on turned ball feet which insert into table top. Table is lifted on tall rope turned legs terminating to ball feet. Note disk turned turrent tops above carved capitals.
