RARE LABELED FOOTSTOOL
Remnant of label on the underside – From the label and William Hancock’s short period of partnership with Holden and Adams we can date this precisely.

Found in wonderful Untouched Estate Condition. Footstool is the curule leg design used throughout the Classical Period.

A related footstool labeled by Hancock, Holden, and Adams is illustrated in The Magazine Antiques, May 1976; Classical Taste in America 1800-1840 – Wendy A. Cooper, pg. 121 plate 81.
