A pair of Fine Quality Empire Chairs that developed in a cabinet shop from a cabinetmaker with a skillful interpretation of form and design. The sweeping line of its plain barrel back, slight cant of the back legs, subtle swell of the seat rails,open arms with a scroll of the arm terminals, excellent choice of mahogany, as well as, the detailing of its carvings all contribute to give a sence of movement and rhythm.
Each having a slightly scrolled concave crest above a upholstered barrel-back. The open down-curving arms end in large scrolls. Each rests above carved stylized arm supports. Its slightly bowed seat rails enclose their original slip seats. All is above carved scrolling sabre legs which terminate to scrolled feet.
